Welcome

As Headteacher, I am very proud to welcome you to St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, Blaydon, a Partnership School of the Bishop Wilkinson Catholic Education Trust.

St Joseph’s has been educating children from its community since 1871 and serves the parishes of St. Anne’s Winlaton and St Joseph’s Blaydon which is a vibrant, evangelising community. We have a reputation as a safe and happy Catholic school which provides high quality education. Today, we are proud to maintain this reputation, catering for our wonderful, diverse community of children and families. Although we are a Catholic school, we welcome applications from those of other faiths, or no faith, who share our ethos and values.

Our Values

In 2018, we revisited our mission statement and considered how it could support our work as a Rights Respecting School by linking aspects of it to the relevant articles of the ‘United Nation’s Convention on the Rights of the Child’.

All are welcome in St Joseph’s where everyone is special, cared for and challenged to be the best they can be in our safe and happy school. We strive to, love justice, show mercy and walk wisely and humbly with God. We will love one another in Christ knowing that Jesus loves us very much.

Letters

We send out letters and newsletters on a regular basis to keep parents up to date with school decisions and progress.

At St Joseph's, we keep our parents, carers and families informed about upcoming events and celebrations of our children's successes. We regularly publish a newsletter, which is sent out electronically to all of our parents and is made available on this page. We also use Social media to share the very latest events, learning and religious celebrations that take place within our school.
