Year 2 got to go on a trip to Saltwell Park this week after winning the best attended class in the summer term. The children had lots of fun playing in the park with their friends and in the maze and also enjoyed seeing the animals there. Who will be the next best attended class?

Year 4 had a wonderful first 3 day residential trip to Holy Island. They had lots of fun exploring the island and visiting Lindisfarne Priory. On the way home they stopped at Seahouses to go on a boat trip around the Farne Island and went to the fish and chip shop for their lunch.

St Joseph’s Kidz Zone after school club is now open. Children may stay at school from 3:15pm – 6:00pm (different charges apply, depending on length of stay). The children have been taking advantage of the sunshine and have been outside discussing springtime then coming back into school for their snack or evening tea.

We were lucky to have Sargent Dan from Northumbria Police visit Year 1 as they begin their new RE topic ‘Special People’. They thought about special people in their homes, schools and communities. The children loved trying on his kit and asking lots of questions.

We have lunchtime clubs every half term in school. Last term finger knitting was a new club and it was a big hit with the key stage 2 children. Other clubs include, Lego, key stage one and two book club, mindful colouring, singing and football club.
